Desires

April 4, 2008

Okay, this one was actually from my mother. Im so happy shes begining to go to church again, so im praying for her. For a little gift, she gave me this keyring, (you’ll see it soon). But there was something special about it. There was a little scripture behind it. I looked at it, and read this note that every one should have somewhere in their house.

Psalms 37:4

“Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.” What made me think was, why did this one come to her? Out of all the little knick knacks she could have chosen, what made this one so unique? I asked her and she told me that it reminded her of me. How every desire of my life hasn’t failed yet. I lived with aspects in my life that i just hated. But my love for God has grown more powerful as I got older. I chose that love just as David did when he gave his life to God.

Whoa. Did my mom just explain scripture to me??!! I guess shes finally starting to realize how much God means to me. And how much we mean to Him. I just thought it was amazing because my mom was never the one to explain the christian body. What was nifty about it was the key ring was a chain of hearts.

Funeral?

April 4, 2008

Well, I was Opening my bible to study this verse that has been getting me, and I open to the wrong page, but something cought my eye.

Ecclesiastes 7:2

“It’s better to go to a funeral than a party.” I thought, what the heck? Why would i want to go to a funeral? They’re depressing and make you cry, Why would that be more fun than a party? I can’t say that I’m a party person, but i wouldn’t want to be the party pooper. But as i kept reading, it got to me, its easier to think about death  and thing about your life, and where its going, than just waiting to see what happens. Because what ever happens, could be the enemies work, and I won’t even know. But when you think about death, in a sense, its gonna be better. I surely (who’s surely? haha, jk) don’t want to think of my life as a waste and that i didn’t do anything to respect what Jesus did for us on the cross. When I become more passionate, I feel closer to God because there is nothing more important than his love. Sometimes we just have to think outside the crowd, and go into our own bubble and find out what He thinks is right for our lives, and what He expects to to be as we enter His kingdom. Don’t let temptation get you down by following the crowd. I just thought this was amazing because when you choose to go to youth, or church, somethimes friends can boggle your minds to get you to go to that friday night party or stay over those saturday nights. Instead of getting into the word.

Btw: I was accually trying to Study Psalms 37:4. :)

Prophets Voice

March 31, 2008

Todays Word has really made me look at Pastor Aarons preachings differently. When we listen to him, its good take take down your own notes, and soak up the word he’s preaching in your own way, the way God wants you to hear it. When we listen, we don’t normally let Him speak through us. we choose words from other mouths and repeat it. When we speak, we need to speak with boldness and a mindset on God. Not speaking our own message.

1 Samuel 3 says:

“..make your ears tingle, not itch.” We let others tell us what we want them to say, instead of teaching it and experiencing it ourselves. Also not to please yourself by speaking in tounges infront of someone else. Speaking in tounges is a lang. you and God share, and how He wants it to be heard. Keep It safe on your own time with God and prayer. Don’t discourage the gift, but don’t throw it our there and go insane. We need to recieve the holy spirit by gathering our own questions and allow Gods voice to be spoken into you.

Flaws.

March 27, 2008

Matthew 3:16

“This is my son. I am pleased with him.” What He’s talking about in this verse is that we need to learn to love or appreciate those among us, especially family. We don’t all follow the way God portrays his love for one another, but don’t you think that we could try to accomplish compassion in various ways? Why not show love over lust, and good over greed? We lack to show the beauties in a person. Instead, we show their flaws and mock them.

Jesus loves us for what ever we look like, or what ever we say. We do things He’s not happy about, but we need to learn to love one another the way Our Lord loves us.

God’s Purpose

March 26, 2008

The Reason we live is because He died for our sins, but praising him and studying the bible isn’t enough. Our purpose is to go out and disciple others the same way God did. We are to go on a mission for the lost and speak into their lives and show them that theres a better life.

 Ezekiel 34:16

“I will search for the lost and bring back the strays. I will bind up the injured and strengthen the weak, but the sleek and the strong I will destroy. I will shepherd the flock with justice.” Sometimes we search for those who we believe can accomplish or be “good christians”. When what we really need to search for is the broken, the ones who need the help in search for christ.

Sacrifice.

March 25, 2008

What does that mean? Sacrifice is giving up something valued for the sake of something else. Sometimes I stop to think about what I’m giving up as I go along the day. Wondering why I persue to do it,  when I don’t even deserve it..

 Luke 18:22

“you lack one thing, sell all that you have and distribute to the poor, and you will have treaesure in heavon and come, follow me.” Looking around at the things I have, made me realize i don’t deserve any of it, only because when Jesus asked his followers to leave everything behind and join him in heavon. I know that heavon has the greatest treasures and wonders I can ever contain here. I also sacrifice somethings, but are they enough? There are things I tend to hang on to because i haven’t let them go. I think we need to learn to let go and start off life how God Has planned for us.

It’s Easter.

“In view of GOD’s mercy.”

Pastor Aaron made a good point about worship. We already worship something, but is it right? What are we sacrificing our body to? When we present our body, we need to go all in as a living sacrifice, as Paul. Not just singing, not just dancing, not just lifting my hands, but knowing that i have a reason to do all this in mercy.

Eph. 2:3

“But God,” while we try to be something else, we end up being like everyone else. I was lost. I do not deserve my life but because Jesus died on the cross, I have not been saved through faith, I’ve been saved through grace.

I also thought a lot about Pastor Aarons List of “How to view life throught his mercy.” The first bullet had so much to do with how we see our lives before. After we have been saved, we miss our old lives. I don’t think that we truely forgave or layed aside those sacrifices we promised me would make. If I become more aware about my previous life, and missed it, then I’m not as commited and engaged as I should be because there is nothing behind me but sin. The future that God holds for me is way more important than anything I’ve ever done.

The 3rd bullet kind of ties back with the 1st one only because our foundation is broken ground and if we commit to Jesus, our broken ground can be seen as a Temple. I know that i won’t rebel against it, otherwise, I don’t know what His Temple holds for me.

Life Is Stronger

March 22, 2008

Tomb, thou shalt not hold Him longer;
Death is strong, but Life is stronger;
Stronger than the dark, the light;
Stronger than the wrong, the right;
Faith and Hope triumphant say,
Christ will rise on Easter Day.
